The most frequent misconception associated with the Hybrid Publishing industry is that we are a “Vanity” publisher or a “Scam”.  I assure you, Marla and I have been in the publishing industry for a combined 30 plus years. Having previously owned a Traditional Publishing company for over 15 years, rest assured that we know what we are doing and how to help our authors achieve their dreams of becoming published. We are authors ourselves, so we know the struggles of becoming published.  Not everyone can or wants to “do it themselves.” Please keep the tips below in mind when considering Silver Rose Press.

• The publishing landscape is ever-changing. New models like a Hybrid Publishing format can take time for authors to accept.  Hybrid publishing companies have been around since early 2000 and continue to be a more sought-after industry since authors often are never authored a Traditional publishing contract.
• We understand why people sometimes get confused. There are many publishing models out there. Hybrid publishing is a model where the author pays a fee, but the publisher retains a right of refusal to the manuscripts we publish. We only accept manuscripts that pass our rigorous editorial review.  
• Our authors choose us because we have been in the business for over 30 combined years and we offer the highest quality editorial and design standards. Much like Traditional publishing, however, because we request an up-front fee, we work on a partnership with our authors and offer much higher royalty rates (75%) to our authors who choose our Hybrid package.  
• Marketing Services: We also offer marketing to our authors, which many authors struggle with. All of our Hybrid authors books and author bios are placed on our website.  New releases are advertised on our social media and we help authors with setting up their Amazon Author Page (something that most publishing companies do not do).  If an author would like to do a book-signing we are always excited to help them get this set up.  We are continually looking into obtaining contracts with local bookstores where our authors live.
• Videos and Tips: We will be offering videos to our authors that help them hone their craft, learn more about the industry and offer marketing strategies.  Our BLOG is one way we help authors learn and we will be adding videos soon. 
• New Authors: Most traditional publishing companies will never take on a new author.  The Hybrid model allows us to accept even the newbie author and cover our cost for expensive professional services like cover design, formatting, editing, etc. We are defined by the quality of the books we distribute and the family-type atmosphere we offer to our authors.
• IBPA Standards: We only offer services that follow the standards set by the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) for Hybrid publishers, which specifies things such as fair contracts, a rigorous editorial process and highest quality design standards.  We also publish through major distribution channels to allow our authors the best chance of selling their books on sites like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Thrift Books and others on-line sites. 
• Testimonials: We would be happy to share testimonials as to the services we have provided in the past and will continue to do. Our authors are happy and excited to work with us because we treat them like members of our family.
